| The town of TruilTruil is a smaller town located a few days southwest of Crevisha, the town itself is of no importance, but the guild halls are somewhat famous throughout the land. The guilds here have been known to produce some of the most hardend warriors, devoted clerics, cunning rogues and feared arcanists. Few can say the joined the guilds ranks easily, and of those, fewer can say they left the guild with nothing more to gain. The town itself rely's upon no army, although it lies within the reaches and protection of Dragon Ports militia, Truil's guard is made of the elite Guild Elders, around three hundred strong. Although this is not enough to protect the town from a war, it fairs well enough to the dangers of every day life. Having stopped trolls, goblins and orc attacks many times, Truil only calls upon the Dragon Port militia when in dire need. Truil is also a place where small fishing ships can stroll right through town, replinishing their supplies, making repairs or anything else they may need to do, although the small town does not allow the sailors to stop for more than one day, and even then its very expensive to secure a Truil dock. Some of the only actual non-governmented trade that takes place in Turil is the fishing. People sell Yulkols, whos bones are carved into intricate small sculptures. Sometimes animals, people, places or objects of importance, these trinkets are of high value. Some of the smallest and least detailed pieces sell for around 80gp. Yulkolists usually live around the nobles of the city, most working out of their homes. Places of Intrest: Ghostly Sword-Tavern/Inn- Spoiler:
The Ghostly Sword is a very well known tavern in Truil, here they happily serve all races, save the most vile creatures, and its a very good place to hear rumors of the land, or seek meager jobs in the ways of adventure. It is very old, being built as the first tavern to exist in the town, since then it has recieved only the slightest repairs. Although, it is said that extensive work has been done to its underground tunnles, and that they hold many secrets. The tavern is run by a Halforc by the name of Zarlnoc, although no one really knows if its male/female or what happened to its eye.
Yellow Bellied Dwelling-Tavern/Inn- Spoiler:
Yet another tavern that has stood the test of time, although not as old as The Ghostly Sword, the Yellow Inn (as most call it) has still been around for quite some time. This Inn caters to mostly nobles in Turil, it wasn't meant that way or the name would probably be different, it just so happend that it lies on the northen side of Turil which is where most of the nobles dwell. It has come to par with its customers over the years though, sporting fresh aromas, inspiring paintings of nobles and Guild Elders on the walls, and chandaliers, instead of torch's or candles, light the inside. It's underground tunnels have been blocked off to meet the needs of a storage room. The Yellow Inn is run by the Elven mistress,Sinelda, of Lord Karenbark, current mayor of Turil.
The Docks:- Spoiler:
The docks, where fisherman land their ships and overnight sailors dock for one night only. Also a very bad place to be after sunset. Is obscured in a thick mist most of the time, pirates, fisherman and thieves roam this section of the city. Like most city's it has a guard, though the 'watch' is a group of volunteers (some actual volunteers others being punished) from the fighters guild and one elder a night from the mages guild patrol the streets. Meko himself patrols, along with a couple 'volunteers', the Dock everynight. Here the common thief would be torn to shreds or robed blind within minutes. No, the thieves here are not common, many are execelling illusionist or rogues taking up the Art, all of which have been throw out of thier guilds. What really goes on here is unknown by most people, unless caught unaware themselves, and Meko collars very few of these criminals.
People of Intrest: The mayor: Lord Pollo Karenbark- Spoiler:
The mayor of Turil is young, by mayor standards, at 28 yrs old and has served the town for only a few years. His father ran it before him and died in a battle with a troll five years ago. Pollot took up the position mostly against his will, although he didn't object to much, and now does everthing he can for the town. He busy's himself with inspecting treaty's and trade routes, gold supply and earnings for the month. He does little physical labor but is a genius when it comes to battle strategy and concerns of a swift tounge. A brown mob of curly hair atop his six foot frame, hazel eyes and tan skin bring all his features to that of a 'normal' human. Usually wearing, humbly, light cloth pants and a sleevless vest if not in a meeting of a sort.He lived his whole life in Turil among his noble family, and is probably the richest man in the town. A nice guy, looking at a persons character rather than judging people on thier reputation, he makes many friends. Including King Roiken and Meko of the Fighters Guild. Every month, on the last day, he holds a party for anyone able to pay 5 gold to enter. Its a grand ball of casual dress and is held in his home at the southern end of Turil. A huge four story mansion, with more than 30 rooms, he often hires a bard to recite story's of the town and play songs of celebration. This is done for no reason execpt keeping the town up beat and in good spirits.
Meko Galladin - Spoiler:
the leader of the Fighters guild. A renowed Human warrior, skilled in the art of swordplay. The man stands close to six and a half feet tall, always keeping his great sword strapped to his back. The sword made of a blueish metal (gift from the dwarves) is said to have the coldest blade in all the land, freezing most opponents that happen to have blood drawn by this sword. His close-cropped black hair and even blacker eyes do little to diminish his look of a hardend warrior. The scars, which he will proudly show to anyone that asks, range from a crooked half moon on his cheek to a horrid puntcure wound on his kidney. Usually dressed in white or grey mail and a magnificient cloak to match. He helps train the apprentices in the mornings and handles political and defensive buisness in the evening. As one of the ten counsil memebers of the Guild Elders, he is very busy at the end of every month. Also one of King Roiken's closes ally's and one of Lord Karenbarks personal guards anytime he travels out of the city. Meko is a gruff man, will not willing show emotion of any kind, execpt anger and self pride, and believes a boy should earn his respect on the battle field before being considered a man. Servaliss Ullayay the Silver - Spoiler:
Archmage of the Mages Guild. An elven wizard who study's, most closely anyway, the art of Evocation. Although truly a master of all magic schools, he chooses this one to study the most because of his own role as one of the Guild Elders. Fast approaching his 650th birthday, Servaliss is middle aged by Elf standards, but shows almost no sign of aging after his 20th year. Servaliss helped take down the dragon that once stalked and, basicly, ruled Dragon Port with only the help of his apprentice and a rogue. He does little in the way of training nowadays, mostly studying to enhance Turil's defensives and bring himself to a better understanding of the Art. Servaliss, as most elves, stands just over five feet in height. Always wearing a silver cloak with a pointed hood and twisting staff to match. The crystal ball on top of his staff serves some magical purpose to him, although most don't know what, he often uses the phrase "Its the Crystals Will I say". His eyes, glazed over from years of magic, are now little more than milky white orbs with small black dots, pupils, in the middle. His hair, likewise, has turned white over the years, although it nearly this when he was born, a blondish tint but nothing more. Servaliss is a very patient man and must think on everything, never makes decisions in less than two or three days, he says no sense in it. He talks to very few of his friends, and even fewer strangers, he takes to the privacy of his tower in the guild most of the time.
