| Kaddastrei: (Circle Of Knowledge)The city of Magic. Kaddastrei is the only Elven city in Gernada not deep in a forest. Half-Elves and Gray Elves have formed this wonderous city. The elven word Kaddastrei means Circle Of Knowledge, which is mirrored in the city's many magic schools. One in each of the eight sectors of the cardinal directions (Labled #2 on the map) These are not towers or extravagant buildings, rather a cluster of buildings where students and appreintices live and study magic, energy, elements and 'mage dueling'. A forest surrounds Kaddastrei on all sides, although it clears out once you get near the high walls, which are only dwarfed by that of Black Wall city. The elves here prosper by weaving, knitting, inventing new magical devices, creating new potions and writing powerful scrolls. A huge tower, its top well above the clouds, stands proud in the exact middle of the city, housing the Royal family of Archmage Valla Crudarian, a Half-elf who's said to be more powerful than Servaliss of Turil's famous Mages Guild. Valla runs the city indirectly, aside the mayor, housed in the Towers garden, Armino Illondel. People of Intrest:
Armino Illondel:- Spoiler:
The Mayor of Kaddastrei, Armino is a Gray Elf of over 3 centurys, his skin still smooth and hair even smoother. Hair and eyes a matching grey color, he stands just over 5' tall, and is slender even by Elf standards. He normally wears robes of light pastels, greens, blues, white and tan, boots of matching hues with a single banded circlet with a diamond on its point on his head at all times. This is a magical item that protects the mayor aganist scrying and other things not publicly known. His warm eyes make him seem a caring and genores man. Being very patient, even for an elf, he has gained the upmost respect from every other leader in Gernada, including the infamous Gallander Grivous.
Valla Crudarian:- Spoiler:
Archmage of Kaddastrei, Valla resides in Grey eagle tower, named after his pet eagle, Yelleo, who is perched on top of the tower anytime its not hunting or traveling with Valla, high above his head. Valla is of average height and weight for an elf, the scars on his face and neck make him somewhat displeasing to look at, despite his beautifuly braided Silvery hair. His eyes so deep with loss and pain that the blue almost seems to fade white with each passing sorrow. The disfigureing scar on his right arm he leaves uncovered by his clothes for the world to see. Usually wearing a deep blue tunic lined with silver collars and threading has been ripped at the shoulder of his right side. Even the leather mail he dons is missing the same. He wears no helmet but a cowl attached to his tunic, only leather backed trousers cover his legs above his light leather hiking boots. Valla constently is out doing something important, or so he says it is, and when he is at home he does alot of instructing students at the eight schools.
Zaderian Kyullon- Spoiler:
Zaderian, Za, is the only drow in Kaddastrei, maybe the only welcomed drow in all of Gernada, and is the head of The Shadow Swords, the watch of Kaddastrie, and does everything in his power to make sure no crimes are committed. He does a very good job at this too, being one of the most feard people in all Gernada. His black skin and white hair are like most drow, but unlike most his eyes are gold. He stands just under six feet, at 5'10" and is heavy for an elf. He is always clad in the black banded mail, a standard for the Shadow Swords, and carries two scimitars for battle. He walks with unnatural grace and does things for mysterious reasons. He almost never lets his intentions leak out, unless it needed information. He is a grim and rough man, smiling seems to not be possible for Za. The Shadow Swords themselves are exactly what they sound like, a group of elves and half-elves place strategicly, by Za himself, in the shadows and alleys of Kaddastrei watching and waiting for wrong-doers.
Places of Intrest: The Magic Schools:- Spoiler:
The eight schools are each spefically for each of the schools of magic. Abjuration(N), Conjuration(NW), Divination(W), Enchantment(SW), Evocation(S), Illusion(SE), Necromancy(E), and Transmutation (NE). Each school is overseen by Valla, but each also has its own head instructer. Each school has three class levels, Begginer, Intermediate and Apprentice. Begginers are the first 3 years of schooling, Intermediate level is the next 20 years, an Apprentice is the last 7 years of the time spent here. The schools provide everything a student needs for 30 years of study, that is the minimum required time to graduate and be considered a 'competent' Mage. Students that don't wish to specialize in one area of magic spend 5 years at each school, learning to be at least intermediate at each, making their time slightly longer than a specializing mage. Elves are admitted to the schools at the young age of 5, basicly as soon as they can understand and talk good enough to learn. For 4 months out of the year the students are realeased to their families, but are given an assignment to complete while at home. These range from mastering a certain spell to finding rare spell components. If the assignment is failed during this time the student must postpone his studies until the task is complete, not matter how long it takes. The school is made up of 5 buildings, 1) A barracks, where the students sleep, 2) A recreation hall, used for activites- Weaving, Performing, celebrations and vairous games, 3) A Duel Hall, this is used for duels and challenges for students only, a Duel is held every month three students from each school, one from each class level, compete for a golden spell book trophy, 4) An Instructers barracks, this is for the teachers sleeping quarters and also for Alchemy experiments, 5) Instruction Building, this is where the actual teaching happens. The largest of the 5 buildings by far.
The City-Forest:- Spoiler:
The city forest is the most known tavern in Kaddastrei, although not the only one, its the only tavern willing to execpt anyone who is not a elf or half-elf, and because of this it is the busiest and most warm hearted tavern in the city. The actual building is a very large, old, oak tree, the tavern was carved out inside. The tree is huge, half the height of Gray Eagle Tower, has many branches and still lives. Leaves change colors and go bare with the seasons, and it still grows year after year. Inside the walls are the inside of the oaks trunk, although polished and shiny, the many swirls only lead to a guess to how old the tree actually is. Tables, bar, and chairs are all carved from the natural wood from the inner workings of the trunk. Intricate flower and vine carvings line the walls, leaves and other plants hang from the ceiling and grow all over the place, the tavern is light by weir lights floating in the air, by magical means of course. There are no waitresses, simply saying what you want is enough to have the pleasntry of seeing in seemingly float through mid-air to your table, and be placed by what seems like a very experienced barmaid. They serve no meat however, only fruits, nuts, berries, and other organic foods. The do serve all kinds of drinks, there most prized being the ButterFly Wine. The City Forest is run by a light hearted half elf, Yerles, golden hair and green eyes. She is average height and weight for an elf, wearing a green dress with brown slippers and a lon sword strapped to her back at all times. She is generally happy and in humorous. She loves talking about rumors and hearing stories of adventures, or local gossip of nobles or people in power.
